In 1995, we first visited Plettenberg Bay located along the Garden Route. We immediately fell in love with this place, especially for its beautiful bay and natural beauty. The beaches are fantastically beautiful, and the lagoon and Keurbooms River invite you for lovely walks.

Plettenberg Bay (and not Cape of Good Hope) is the place where the first Europeans settled. Today, “Plett,” as it is affectionately called, is one of the most exclusive vacation destinations in South Africa.

The Lagoon and Look Out Beach (right) – Plettenberg Bay

The Look Out Beach has a magnificent beach that extends into a lagoon where you can fish excellently.

The beach is just a few hundred meters walking distance. The well-known beach tent in the area makes the stay even more enjoyable. This environment is also suitable for surfers. Lifeguards are on duty during the peak season to keep a watchful eye.

Everything Within Reach

The center of Plett is just a few minutes’ walk away. Here you will find shops, banks, and restaurants where you can combine the useful with the pleasant. The variety of restaurants with different cuisines is vast and ranges from eateries to top restaurants.


There are also many Arts and Crafts shops, clothing stores, health shops, beauty salons, galleries. There are plenty of shops offering events such as ocean safaris, boat rentals, scuba diving, and sea fishing.


If you are a golf enthusiast, you will be delighted: there are no less than three golf courses in the immediate vicinity, two in Plett and one in Knysna (20 min. away).


Finally, two large shopping centers are within a five-minute walk, where you can buy a variety of fresh and luxury products.

Dolphins can be seen throughout the year. There are two major organizations that organize sea safaris, allowing you to view these magnificent animals up close. An experience you will never forget.
