Plettenberg Bay (and not Cape Good Hope) is the place where the first European immigrants settled. Today Plett (as the locals call it) is one of the most exclusive holiday destinations in South Africa.
The accommodation is situated on the Garden Route in amazing surroundings. First there is of course the spectacular view over Plettenberg Bay. You don’t even have to leave the house to enjoy this view: from the terrace you can see the dolphins swim, and, give the right season, you can even see whales swim with their offspring. So don’t forget to bring your binoculars!
The beach is only a stone’s throw away! The famous Look Out Beach has a beautiful shore that gives onto a lagoon where fishing is excellent. The well known beach hut will make your stay on the beach even more pleasant. For surfers this region is also a very good choice. In high season lifeguards are present to keep an eye on things.
A pleasant walk of only a few minutes takes you to the city center of Plett. You’ll find shops, restaurants, banks and anything else you need to make your stay pleasurable! The restaurants offer an enormous variety in international cooking, from simple snacks to culinary highlights. Arts and Crafts shops, fashion, health and beauty shops and galleries are only a few examples of the retail therapy that is offered. For the adventurous there are booking offices for ocean safari’s, boat rental, scuba diving and sea fishing. And if you fancy a round of golf you can have a go at one of three nearby golf courses, of which two in Plett and one in Knysna (20 min. distance).
In season, Plett Bay is visited by whales and their young. Dolphins you can see all year round. Sea safari’s are being organized by two major companies to enable you to watch these beautiful animals and other sea life at very close range. An unforgettable experience.
All of the Garden Route offers you an enormous biodiversity and unimaginable vistas, not only in the Nature Reserve parks, but just everywhere you go!
